Privacy notice

This site is run by private individuals in Bloemfontein. We collect as little as a reply needs and keep it no longer than answering requires. The notice below is framed on the Protection of Personal Information Act and on the oversight of the national information regulator.

Last changed 15 October 2026

Who is responsible

The site is operated by two private individuals from an address in Westdene, Bloemfontein. There is no company behind it and no third party processing data on our behalf. If you want to know what we hold about you, telephone the number on the ask desk page and we will tell you on the call.

What we collect, and only that

If you send the form, we receive the name you typed, the telephone number or reply address you gave, the subject line and the message. Nothing else is captured. There is no analytics script on this site, no advertising network, no social tracking pixel and no device fingerprinting of any kind.

The web server keeps ordinary request logs that include an internet address and the page requested, as every web server does, and those are kept short and used only to see whether the site is working.

Why we are allowed to hold it

The lawful basis is simple: you asked us a question and we need your details to answer it. That is the whole purpose. We do not use what you send to build a mailing list, we do not profile you and we do not make automated decisions about you.

How long it stays

Form submissions and the replies to them are deleted within twelve months of the conversation ending, and sooner if you ask. Measurement sheets written for a paying session are kept as working records with your personal details removed, so that a figure can be checked later without identifying who requested it.

Who else sees it

Nobody. We do not sell, rent, share or trade what you send. The only exception would be a lawful instruction from a competent authority, and we would comply with that narrowly and tell you unless we were prohibited from doing so.

Your rights, and how to use them

You may ask what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted and object to us holding it. Telephone the ask desk and we will deal with it on the call where possible, and within a reasonable period otherwise. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you may take the matter to the national information regulator, whose complaint process is open to anyone.

Children and the form

The form is intended for adults making decisions about cars. We do not knowingly keep information about children, and if something sent to us plainly concerns a child we delete it rather than file it.
